Does Magnifica Duo make real Cold Brew or just iced coffee?
It makes both. Cold Brew uses De’Longhi’s Cold Extraction Technology with ambient/lower-temperature water and very low pressure, while Iced Coffee, Iced Espresso and Iced Americano are separate recipes.
Is both the hot and cold milk system included?
Yes. LatteCrema Hot and LatteCrema Cool are core features of Magnifica Duo, not an optional upgrade.
Can I use oat or almond milk for cold foam?
Yes. De’Longhi supports dairy and plant-based alternatives. Results depend on formulation; cold barista-style plant milk usually gives more consistent foam.
Is Duo stronger than Magnifica Plus?

1. How fast is the Cold Brew?
De’Longhi specifies Cold Brew in under three minutes using its proprietary Cold Extraction Technology.
2. Does it make drip coffee differently from espresso?
Yes. Duo uses a lower-pressure extraction without espresso-style pre-infusion for its drip-style coffee, versus high-pressure brewing for espresso and very low-pressure extraction for Cold Brew.
3. Can I use pre-ground coffee?
Yes, the machine supports pre-ground coffee for occasional single preparations.
4. Can it make two coffees at once?
Twin-shot preparation is available for compatible coffee recipes; milk drinks are prepared individually.
5. Are the milk parts dishwasher-safe?
The removable milk-system parts are designed for easy cleaning and De’Longhi identifies the milk systems as dishwasher-safe. Follow the automatic cleaning cycle after milk use as well.
6. What beans should I use?
Fresh medium to medium-dark beans are a versatile starting point across espresso and cold recipes. Very oily beans can leave more residue in automatic grinders.
7. How often should I descale?
Follow the machine’s prompt; frequency changes with water hardness and usage. Set hardness correctly and use compatible EcoDecalk.
8. Magnifica Duo or Eletta Explore?
Both target hot-and-cold drink lovers. Duo brings true Cold Brew, drip coffee and hot/cold milk into the more accessible Magnifica range; Eletta Explore offers a much larger drink menu and a more premium interface/feature set.
9. What is the Canadian warranty?
Warranty coverage varies by De’Longhi product; keep your proof of purchase and register the machine with De’Longhi Canada to access applicable extended-registration benefits.
10. Is Cold Brew actually cold when it comes out?
Cold Extraction uses much cooler water and low pressure than espresso, but for a properly cold serving you should still prepare it over ice or chill the glass depending on the recipe. It is not refrigeration inside the machine.
11. Can I make cold foam without making coffee?
Yes. The LatteCrema Cool system includes cold-milk functions, so you can prepare cold foam/milk independently for other drinks.
12. Can I keep both milk carafes in the refrigerator?
Yes, after running the appropriate cleaning cycle. Refrigerate them between uses and periodically disassemble the milk components for a deeper clean.
13. Can I use pre-ground decaf while regular beans stay in the hopper?
Yes. The pre-ground function is ideal for an occasional decaf without emptying the bean hopper.
14. Does the machine automatically adjust the grinder for Cold Brew vs espresso?
The machine changes its extraction recipe for different drink types, but the physical grinder setting remains a user setting. Choose a grinder setting that works well across your main beans and adjust gradually only when taste/flow indicates a need.
15. Are the three profiles useful in a household?
Yes. They are useful when people prefer different drink sizes, temperatures or strengths and do not want to overwrite one another’s settings.
16. Why does a large drink taste weaker than my espresso?
Large beverages naturally dilute a given coffee dose more. Increase strength, use a recipe designed for a larger cup or run an additional shot instead of simply adding more water to one extraction.
17. How much daily cleaning does the Duo require?
Run the milk CLEAN cycle after milk drinks, empty/rinse trays and grounds as prompted, rinse the brew group regularly and descale only when prompted based on hardness/use.
18. Is Magnifica Duo worth it if I never drink cold coffee?
Probably not unless you value its other workflow/features. If you mainly want hot espresso and hot milk drinks, Magnifica Plus or Dinamica Plus may give you better value without paying for the cold-drink system.
